My Journey

Karen’s Hobby Room was officially founded in December 2016.  This is after many years of having my own creative space beginning when I was young and learning sewing and crocheting alongside my mother.  Over the years, my desire to learn and grow creatively has led me into several very different mediums such as card making, jewelry making, acrylic painting, sewing, cake decorating, and much more.

By day, I’m currently doing freelance work as an IT applications administrator and have been working with computers for as long as I can remember.  Working in the tech field has given me a logical process similar to that of an engineer and this has enhanced my creativity in the craft room to work outside the box.

When I’m not working or creating, my hobbies include competitive archery and keeping up with my four cats.
